I was looking for you

I was looking for you Lord
but my thoughts got in the way.
I was looking for you,
is there any other way?
I was looking for you
through the anti-psychotic fog.
I was looking for you
so I went out for a jog.
I was looking for you

from a place of serious doubt.
I was looking for you,
but fear and anxiety got in the way.
I was looking for you,
perhaps I’ll try another day.
I was looking for you Lord—
I think I’ll say a prayer.
I was looking for you Lord—
maybe this time it will be better?
I’m still looking for you Lord
from a place of disconnection.
