Heaven
four poems

Heaven is within you

→ Kingdom of heaven

→ Treasures in heaven

→ New heaven, new earth

Heaven comprises four short poems written to be displayed in St John's, West Ealing in the autumn of 2011, based on verses from the New Testament:

People will not say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17 v21).

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5 vv 3 &10).

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal (Matthew 6 vv19-20).

I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away (Revelation 21 v1).
